The aim of the practice is to teach holistically through the engagement of hands heart and mind alongside nature to develop the whole learner, cognitively, socially, and physically as well as having fun.

This provides a safe envinoment to follow the concept and teaching approach of nature pedagogy and the 8 ways approach to developing Aboriginal cultural competence.
Our Bush Kindy Program is child led and extends on the Nature pedagogy and the 8 ways of leanring. It will emerge according to what we are playing, Acknowledging country and first nations people.
Instilling a love for nuatre and respect for our the orginal custodians of the land. This is run by Mandala on Monday, Talia on Tuesday, Wednesday and Jayne on Thursday and Friday.

Cultural Program
We highly honour the first people of Australia and have incursions regularly to build on the children’s cultural awareness with local Bundjalung educators. This has included bush excursions with Auntie Delta, murals by Oral Roberts and Ken and Tracy Gordon and Uncle Lewis Walker, cultural awarenss with Uncle Roy Gordon, facilitation of Yarning circles, weaving, acknowldgement of country by local custondians, Family Fun day Connection to Country, Excursions to Jarjum Bugal Nah, collaboration for NAIDOC events with local schools, Ninginah No More program with Auntie Leonee Nowta as our cultrual advisor.
Our program includes the 8 way approach which is: storytelling, community links, learning maps, deconstruct/construct, non linear, non verbal, symbols and images and landmarks.
Children engage in daily acknowledgement of country.
Our Bush Tucker Living Classroom nurtures this relationship and was seeded in reconciliation week in 2014 in consultation with Aunite Dorothy Gordon and Auntie Karyn Roberts. Please refer to the Bush Tucker garden infomration for more information.
